Question: If a girl has a fever blister or cold sore and she performs oral sex on me could I catch HSV-2? Answer: Fever blisters and cold sores are herpes. It is more common for oral herpes to be HSV-1. If you did contract herpes from your girlfriend in that manner then you would wind up with genital herpes type-1. (original story)
